about

A tale about my short time in sales. Written in the midst of post-graduation panic.

lyrics

I worked just one day in a sales job
where I tried to sell Direct TV
and felt like a liar, the only TV in my house
is the kind that comes free
made sixty dollars and learned I can not
talk past someone, make them do what I want
I think that's something I'm happy to know
it won't pay bills, though

I'm trying now to find something else I can do
that might actually help
the search is the worst, and I'm sure you relate
and I'm sorry to pity myself
it's not chance, it takes work, this I know
but it feels I have lost all control
all my actions seem feeble at best
but I'm acting

and I'll continue to pin all of my hopes
on each email I send
yes, I know that I am setting myself up
for some disappointment
that's the life I am in for right now
taking time and figuring shit out
patience comes and goes, and yes, I doubt
but I'm okay for now
pretty sure I won't drown
I know it'll work out somehow
we'll wait and see now
